After a forgettable second Day, New Zealand have managed to get something for themselves on Day 3. They have finished on 70/3 and need another 335 runs for victory with 2 days to go. Peter Fulton and Ross Taylor have seen off the dying moments of the day and have raised their partnership to 33, both surviving dropped chances.Pakistan started Day 3 at 64/2 and lost only one wicket till Lunch, but then, in the second session, they lost all their remaining seven wickets for just 59 runs.
Once again, New Zealand did not have a great start to their innings and lost McIntosh quickly. Guptill and Flynn steadied the innings a bit but then, Asif removed both to put the hosts in trouble.Things could have been worse had the catches of Fulton and Taylor been taken. But both are out there. Tomorrow could well be the last day of the match, weather permitting.New Zealand need all their remaining batsmen down the order to bat right through to make a fist of this.
